Anyone seen this show on ID, or 'Investigation Discovery'? It's kind of an interesting show Sunday night, two half hour episodes. I have had friendships where one party lacked boundaries or placed more importance on the relationship than there was, for example one woman who referred to us as 'family' to make us feel more obligated to her, but these didn't escalate to the point where they were menacing. It's sort of interesting the behaviors that separate those who fixate on a particular individual and pursue a relationship that isn't wanted by the other person from those who have more of a sense of boundaries and healthy relationships. IMO some associate stalking strictly with romantic pursuit, but there are those who fixate on others out of a sense of resentment or jealousy. The hostess herself is a psychologist who was stalked herself, but keeps this out of her commentary after that revelation. Interesting find for someone who likes mysteries but doesn't very often watch tv.
It seems like an interesting show! I'd watch it if I had the Id channel but saddly I don't..I don't have the new discovery health channel wich I'm most unhappy about. :(
There was one episode where the pursued fought back and won. A woman named Harvette Williams in Detroit was pursued romantically by a man she strictly gave her business card. This lady was parenting solo and a hairstylist, had no interest in any romantic relationship with him, and he pursued her...even after an Order for Personal Protection was issued...until paying a maintenance man $500 to get a key to her apartment, which he entered. While he was in prison for violating the PPO, she successfully lobbied governor Granholm to pass legislation that once someone was released from prison for a stalking offense, they had to be monitored with a GPS, where if it went off to a tracking authority that the person was anywhere near the pursued's residence or place of business, they would return to prison. A YOU GO GIRL salute if ever there was one. Why should Miss Williams have to leave the area, forfeit her business, find new schools for the kids when she did nothing wrong?
